3-year return-to-base warrantyCabinets, hardware and benchtopsEffective 31/08/2015Version 31/08/2015
Warranty basis

Grand Kitchens covers confirmed quality defects under normal residential use.

This policy explains the 3-year return-to-base warranty, what is covered, what is excluded, the maintenance required to keep the warranty valid and how customers can make a warranty claim.

1

Warranty Cover

Grand Kitchens Ltd provides a 3-year return-to-base limited warranty on kitchen cabinets, supplied cabinet hardware and supplied benchtops.

This warranty applies from the date of supply, installation or invoice, whichever occurs first.

The warranty applies only where Grand Kitchens Ltd determines, after inspection, that the defect is caused by a quality issue in materials or workmanship under normal residential use.

  • repair the affected item;
  • replace the affected component;
  • supply an equivalent replacement component; or
  • provide another remedy agreed by Grand Kitchens Ltd.

Any accepted warranty remedy applies to the defective component only.

2

Return-to-Base Warranty

This is a return-to-base warranty.

The Customer must return the affected product or component to Grand Kitchens Ltd, or make it reasonably available for inspection, unless Grand Kitchens Ltd agrees otherwise in writing.

Unless required by law or agreed in writing, this warranty does not include removal costs, reinstallation costs, transport or delivery costs, access costs, loss of use, consequential loss or costs caused by project delay.

3

What Is Covered

This warranty covers confirmed quality defects in:

  • cabinet carcasses;
  • cabinet doors and drawer fronts;
  • supplied hinges, drawer runners, handles and cabinet hardware;
  • supplied benchtops;
  • manufacturing workmanship; and
  • supplied materials that fail prematurely under normal residential use.
4

What Is Not Covered

  • damage caused by water, steam, leaks, excessive moisture, poor ventilation or standing water;
  • swelling, delamination, mould, corrosion or distortion caused by moisture or incorrect care;
  • damage caused by heat, direct sunlight, impact, misuse, abuse, overloading or neglect;

  • commercial use, rental misuse, outdoor use or use outside normal kitchen conditions; and
  • products, appliances, fittings or materials not supplied by Grand Kitchens Ltd.
5

Maintenance Requirements

To keep the warranty valid, the Customer must properly care for and maintain the cabinets, hardware and benchtops.

Failure to follow these maintenance requirements may void the warranty if the issue is caused or worsened by lack of care, misuse, moisture, heat or unsuitable cleaning.

  • wipe spills immediately, especially around sinks, dishwashers, cooktops, joins, edges and benchtop cut-outs;
  • keep cabinets, panels, doors, drawers and benchtops dry;
  • avoid standing water or prolonged moisture contact;
  • use rangehoods or exhaust fans when cooking;
  • avoid prolonged steam exposure from kettles, dishwashers, ovens, cooktops and other appliances;
  • clean surfaces with a soft damp cloth and mild non-abrasive detergent only;
  • dry surfaces after cleaning;
  • avoid abrasive pads, bleach, solvents, harsh chemicals, citrus cleaners, ammonia, oven cleaner and scouring powders;
  • use trivets or heat pads for hot pots, pans, trays and appliances;
  • use chopping boards and avoid cutting directly on benchtops;
  • avoid excessive weight on shelves, drawers, doors and benchtop overhangs;
  • report leaks, swelling, cracks, loose hardware or suspected defects promptly; and
  • stop using affected parts where continued use may worsen the damage.
6

Warranty Claim Process

To make a warranty claim, the Customer must contact Grand Kitchens Ltd within a reasonable time after noticing the issue and provide:

Grand Kitchens Ltd will assess whether the issue is a valid quality defect covered by this warranty.

  • proof of purchase or invoice number;
  • photos or videos of the issue;
  • a description of the defect;
  • the date the issue was first noticed; and
  • access for inspection or return of the affected component if requested.
